Mindful of the holistic nature of the admissions process, we help our students create cohesive application packages tailored for each college on their list. We work closely with students to manage the entire strategic planning and application process from start to finish.

Plan

  • Making recommendations throughout high school regarding course selection and extracurricular/summer activity participation
  • Advising regarding standardized testing and tutoring

Search

  • Researching schools and compiling a list of “good fit” colleges
  • Providing guidance regarding college visits

Strategize

  • Strategizing regarding admissions plans (e.g., early decision 1 and 2, early action, rolling admissions, regular decision)
  • Assisting students with selecting and corresponding with recommenders and coordinating submission of recommendation letters
  • Choosing majors based upon students’ interests and college admissions policies
  • Assisting with selecting which standardized test scores (if any) to submit as well as the score reporting and submission process

Personalize

  • Creating an individualized timeline for each student
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring that all applications are submitted as early as practicable in light of each student’s overall admissions strategy

Write

  • Identifying essay prompts required by each college to which the student is applying
  • Brainstorming original and insightful essay topics that fit each prompt
  • Crafting polished essays that bring out each student’s distinctive voice
  • Drafting “Additional Information” statements for applications as necessary

Apply

  • Preparing comprehensive activities lists and/or activities resumes
  • Preparing students for interviews with admissions officers and/or alumni interviewers
  • Reviewing completed applications and overseeing the submission process
  • Assisting with the submission of transcripts
  • Setting up admissions portals after submission of applications

Essays

Students, accustomed to writing for rubrics and teachers’ preferences, often ask what the colleges are seeking. The colleges want to know who each student is as a person beyond the grades, course rigor, test scores, and activities listed on the application.
